Earn Your Kentucky Career Ready Certification (Formally NCRC) at Thorn Hill
Employers want skilled employees. One way to demonstrate your skills (and stand above other possible applicants) is to have your National Career Ready Certification in hand.
The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is an assessment-based credential. The NCRC measures and certifies the essential work skills needed for success in jobs across industries and occupations.
The NCRC is widely used by employers, educators, workforce developers, and others with a stake in the success of the economy.
Benefits of the Kentucky Career Ready Certification
- Job seekers and incumbents: A valuable work skills credential with the potential to improve career outcomes.
- Employers and human resources professionals: A trusted indicator that, in combination with other selection tools, can improve hiring, training, or promotion decisions.

Four levels of proficiency
The NCRC is awarded at four levels, based on the scores achieved on the component assessments.
- Platinum: Scores of Level 6 or higher on all three exams
- Gold: Scores of Level 5 or higher on all three exams
- Silver: Scores of Level 4 or higher on all three exams
- Bronze: Scores of Level 3 or higher on all three exam
How to Begin – Complete Your Kentucky Career Ready Certification (Formally NCRC)
First, call 1-502-875-1481 to register for a KCRC class (day and evening classes available)
Second, Students will complete a pre-assessment — based on the results, students will be able to prepare for the exam.
Third, Meet with Adult Educator to plan schedule and testing
